Fun without Naps,Rocks!

I really liked having the sand box on the porch for the ease of monitoring the boys' activities. But I really did not like all the sand getting walked into the house. So this week the sand was replaced with pea gravel. They like it just as well as sand and I like it because now I don't have sand on the bottom of my feet! The rock box will work as the weather gets cooler too. Unfortunately, the water table only works while it is warm. The twins have spent at least a hour playing on their water table everyday. But fear not I have one more idea that will work in any weather. To be posted soon.

More fun without naps...

                                    Water Table
The boys absolutely love water. Baths, pools, sinks, puddles. But for some reason they are not that crazy about their little swimming pool. I fill it up and five minutes later they are ready to come inside. Grrr! They love to wash dishes in the sink but make such a mess that it's more than I can take. Not to mention I need to use the sink myself. So here is our outdoor water table. They have played happily out here for at least an hour and a half every day this week! I wish I could say they were as happy with their new play dough. It's an under bed box placed on the outside chairs.

                            

           Sam advertised by saying "It's like washing dishes!"
          Yep. Except it's outside and they're allowed to splash.

Mud Dogs

We had company on Sunday and were not watching Sam and Joe very closely. We looked out the window to see two naked and muddy boys.(underwear added to protect the innocent) Their new Sunday clothes in a ball in the mud and the 55 gallon rain barrel completely empty. I'm glad their father has a sense of humor.
