We are so excited! Today we picked the first tomatoes of the season.We
started the tomatoes in March and today we ate the first ones. They were yummy. We have 26 plants so we are hoping for a bumper crop. We also planted 8 yellow squash/ zucchini plants. The last one bit the dust today. They were all eaten by the squash vine borer. So we are hoping the pests stay away from the tomatoes. The tomato on the left is a Bradywine and the one on the right is a Rutgers. The Beefsteak are not quite ripe.

We just got our first tomato today, July 5th. All of ours are "volunteers", which means they came up from seed that fell to the ground from last year's plants, so I don't remember what kind they are. Sure were good on our hamburgers.
